Communicating Through Uncertainty

The problem with communicating in uncertainty is that communication is about clarity. Give mock “We’re going to be fine, we’re gonna be good, we have no idea what’s going on but we’re going to be good.” I want to take you through a couple steps on communication:

Gain clarity on:
1. Where you’re headed/what you’re seeking to accomplish.
2. What your uncontrollable variables are.
Set rhythm on what communication through what methods with what messaging:
1. 2d vs 3d.
2. Need to be able to show what communication is going out to what group.
Be up front on what you’re facing: Not fatalistic, not fearful- up front:
1. People are terrified of being surprised!

Your Goal: Is to clarify what you are uncertain on, so that all of it doesn’t feel uncertain.
