The Three Rhythms
January 15, 2020

Leader Notes
There are 3 types of rhythms that you need to be intentional about creating: Continuing Rhythms, Cultivating Rhythms, Evaluation Rhythms:
- Continuing Rhythms are the processes that keeps things going. They are things you don’t have to think about doing. Brushing our teeth, Showering. The biggest question is are you continuing rhythms in line with your desires outcome- or were they just inherited or absorbed from those around you? Needs fresh eyes- why do you do what you do?
- Cultivating Rhythms are specific attention to things you are attempting to cultivate. Like teaching my kids to brush their teeth, or put on deodorant, you have to have specific attention to establish this rhythm. What are you trying to start, what are you trying to change? How can you reinforce that desired rhythm through focus, accountability, etc.
- Evaluation Rhythms I believe are the most important because they ensure that your rhythms are in line with your ideal. This is what it means to be vigilant, vigilance without an ideal is paranoia. Evaluation must constantly look at your ideal, with your desired rhythms, with your actual rhythms. To get to where you want to be you need these three rhythms in your life. – (“Triggers” by Marshall Goldsmith)
